I think todays's heros are completly different because Romantic heros's were innocent and loved nature. Today our heros's like Clint Eastwood are not good and pure but the opposite...bad and unpure. Sometimes our heros don't even want to be heros but are forced to be because either they hsve nothing to lose or everything to lose.

After reviewing the characteristics of a romantic hero I can deduce that the romantic heroes in literature today are very similar. The romantic hero is young, innocent, and pure, loves nature, and quests for some higher truth. Most heroes today are young and/or have young qualities like Luke Skywalker, Prince Caspian to give them the innocent and pure actions that give them impulsive actions. Many heroes that search for a higher level of truth are of the older genre of character because of a higher sophisticated yearning for learning. The political and public figures of today are not the best examples of romantic heroes; sourly because they are older, more mature, and attempt to achieve human goals like money or popularity. But the media makes popular figures that people tend to look up to look beyond human, in a sense of mortality and escaping humanly experiences. Yet they always screw it up someway (Tiger Woods, Brett Farve, Kobe Bryant).

The way I think that the Romantic hero and today’s movie and literature heroes compare is that they are almost the same thing. When we think of a hero we think of figure like superman, Spiderman, or Batman. These are characters that this century has made up to probably replicate a perfect person they are good at heart and they just do great things. And we consider them heroes because they do extraordinary things. The Romantic hero was like this in a way because they made this fictional character to show youth and innocence. That is what they considered a hero in the time of the Romantic age. But not much has changed we actually see real life figures of the Romantic age. Like the people that protect us and keep us safe and healthy these people do extraordinary thing every day for example a doctor could save your life if you are dying. Or a firefighter, if you would be stuck in a burning house they would risk their own life to save yours. This I thing replicates what the Romantic hero represented.

I see that the Romantic hero back then is not really the same in today’s society. In movies, heroes are portrayed as strong and brave whereas before they were innocent and pure. They are also seen as macho and focused on society and how they will be viewed by others: villains or heroes. In the past heroes were nature lovers and now they are far from it. In literature they are more similar. They are written as romantics and described as young with honor in what they believe in. I think they also look for something more in their world since they are often troubled with difficult choices or situations. This search also relates to how past heroes had a deep knowledge within themselves instead of using previous information they had.
As for public figures I think they try to posses here characteristics. They want to be seen as intellectual and pure for their purposes. No politician wants to come off as a villain or else they wouldn’t be successful. They have to win people over and gain their trust and I think these Hero characteristics are the best way to achieve that. The qualities they would have would be being honorable, sophisticated, and knowledgeable. The American Hero is a great way for people to be morally satisfied and even successful.

The characteristics of a Romantic Hero does show up in literature and movies today. One piece of literature or movie might not have all of the traits but it does have some if not all. But the traits are altered to fit our vision of the traits to fit our kind of life style. I think it depends if the traits can be found in public figures. It depends on if you like the figure or not. Because if you do like the figure I am sure they might have some of the traits of the Romantic hero while others that you don't like might not have them. So I do believe that characteristics of a Romantic hero do exist in this time but only in certain situations.

i think everyday life is filled with "romantic hero's". From the politicians we see all the time on the news, all the way down to the reality shows people watch everyday.
i believe almost everything is packaged for popular culture. if it wasn't TV channels like MTV wouldn't have any viewers. the news thrives off of there ability to "enhance" the stories they receive. if they didn't exaggerate, no one would be interested. for example if the president talked to us like he did his wife no one would take him seriously. our lives would be dull if it wasn't for our ability to exaggerate our everyday lives, just as teachers do to make class endurable.

A Romantic hero can be defined as an individual that is “youthful, innocent, intuitive, and close to nature.” This hero is still typical in today’s movies and literature. For example, In the case of Avatar, Jake Sully shares many of the Romantic hero characteristics. He is average in the sense that he has no exceptional skills, fights for what is right, and is young and innocent. He is average in the sense that he has no super powers; he is instead a marine that is not highly educated. Later in the movies plot, he has an emotional appeal that forces him to fight against his own military and race, siding with the “Na’vi” because it is morally right. Jake Sully also shows signs of his innocents; being, he only accepted the job because he is a paraplegic in a search for new legs. He had no desire to change the world.
We can even find evidence of Romantic heroes in the foremost public figures. In today’s politics, politicians are made to look innocent, pure in purpose, and knowledgeable. They don’t live up to their image, but are built up that way by their campaigns. They are supposed to be our “hero” by voicing the common people’s problems. Just like a Romantic hero, the character is not an all powerful individual, but a common person that fights for what’s right. The Romantic Hero is still very common in today’s society.

the American heroes were someone who was youthful in noncent, untuitive, and close natureb. in the other hand the new heros of today that played a role in movies and literarute. one rationalist hero was Ben Franklin he was worldly , educated, sophisticated, and bent on making a palce for himself on civilization.today Americans still create Romantic heros in ht twentieth and twenty first century descendants of natty bumppo are all around us.One hero of the movie " Raiders of the Lost Ark" was Harrison Ford. Another one was Daniel Day-Lewis as Natty Bomppo in the movie " The Last of the Mohicans".

The romantic hero is nothing like how heroes in literature and movies are now days. The heroes today are very different in character and the way they are created. In movies the hero is a person wt supernatural powers and a human out of the common. The real life hero is a person that doesn’t care about what he or she is doing; the only thing it matters for them is that they are helping people. The hero in literature is kind of the same as real life because it doesn’t have superpowers or out of the normal personalities. The politicians sometimes came out as heroes but most of the time they do things just to help them self’s.
They make it seem like their helping people but the true is that they r just doing it to get something back. So the Romantic Hero is allot different then the hero we have now days in our life.

Romantic Heroes
This type of hero in the romantic times to me is very similar to those in movies now days. The reason I think this way is because they are intuitive and very youthful. The romantic hero was named Natty Bumppo and I think he has some of the characteristics of the Lone Ranger and Indiana Jones. Some public figures that can be categorized as heroes are the president of the United States because he is intuitive and has a real concern for the people just like the romantic heroes were trying to do. This is why I think the romantic heroes are around us in this time today just look at the politics.

The romantic heroes are related in today’s movies and literature. For example the movie Hercules, Hercules is a young and innocent. Also he tries to find his father Zeus which is a god and higher than the natural world. The romantic hero’s don’t like life towns but love nature, like Tarzan he hates life in cities but loves the jungle and all wild life. Today’s heroes are more hopelessly and uneasy with girls like in the movie Shrek is very hopeless trying to save the princess and isn’t very kind to her or being a gentlemen. Politian’s aren’t very romantic. They are old and not innocent; they don’t really care about the wild life but rather to “help” clean the cities. They also rarely follow the rules and try to find loop pools.

I do not find evidence of romantic hero in today's prominent public figures because a romantic hero is seen as an uncivilized man, somehow connected to nature not properly dressed and not well mannered and in the other side today's public figures have to be well behaved because the public is always looking for any mistake they make to creatize them and how you look is one of the most important aspects because the impression that you give them always counts.

I did not find any evidence of a romantic hero specially not in today's politicians because they are differently stereotyped a hero is more of an agressive person, strongly connected to nature and doesn't really care about manners or the way he dresses and is somehow violent when provoked in the other hand a politician has to be a well mannered man and well dressed because they are always being creatized by the public and they have to dress nice because in today's society.

Cooper created a hero by the name of Natty Bumppo. Natty compares to the characters that play major roles in literature and movies because, like the character, he is very skillful. Not only are they skillful, but they both have a love for nature. They are both strong, animated characters. They have very similar qualities from the romantic era heroes from the today’s heroes. Overall, they all carry simple morals and are virtuous.

Romantics focused mainly on feelings, emotions, intuition, and nature’s beauty, as opposed to rationalism and reason. They created heroes that were young and youthful, innocent and pure of purpose, lovers of nature, and knowledgeable of people and life. James Fenimore Cooper created the first American heroic figure: Natty Bumppo. He is very similar to the modern day American hero: Superman, Batman, and Spiderman. They all are heroic, virtuous, skillful frontiersmen, who have simple morality, love of nature, distrust of town life, and superhuman resourcefulness. These qualities relate to those of modern day politicians as well. They try to come off as lovers of the people who are innocent and pure of corruption and who know about life and people through deep, intuitive understanding. Romanticism was a very popular way of life and literature in America and is still around today.

This character is very similar to those today because, like this character, the characters today run off of gut instincts. They have to react fast and think on their toes. Many politicians today think things through very logically, so it's hard to say that they compare to romantic heroes. However their spunk and enthusiasm is matched by men today. People love to see leaders that are upbeat and quick thinkers.

I find that American romantic hero's are a very big role motel for movies and literature. In lots of books their is that hero that wants to help others than himself. In action movies there is the young good looking main character who wants to help the innocent and believes in himself and doesn't listen to the corruption of society, it's the perfect hero. Like in Batman, a good looking man who is one of the richest people, who could of lived perfectly in a mansion doing nothing, but chooses to fight for Gotham City, he ignores societies rules to save the people, he looks for some higher truth.
I think the Romantic hero is very packaged in society today like with politicians, they say that their really trying to help society but in the end their just helping themselves and making themselves look better. I do believe their are that very few who truly want to help, not thinking of themselves but for others.

Today’s heroes are very similar to the classic Romantic heroes. They pretty much follow the exact same trends. Our political heroes are also following that trend, they are usually shown to be war heroes or they have tamed a financial jungle. There is still a lot of things that are based on the Romantic hero and this idea will stay around in America for a long time.

Romantic heroes are actually pretty cool. They aren’t based on what is “cool” they are just who they are. They are like being a hero without thinking of themselves as heroes. They are actually real people who just see the world as it is normally. I believe that there still are Romantic heroes in today’s world. Romantic heroes are almost like hippies. They just live life to actually live life. They don’t want to be told what to do so they just do what they want to do and I respect that.

Most heroes always begin as a good person and in the end they are always victorious. They are the most important characters in the story and without them there is no story. Yes, there is a lot of evidence of Romantic’s versions of heroes in today’s writing. Some politicians are heroes and really try to help us but others are just in it for the money. One example is that in movies the hero always wins in the end but they are changing a little cause in other movies some heroes sacrifice their life just to keep others safe from harm. Sometimes in the end the heroes, if they die, magically come back to life and live on as if nothing has happened. That’s how I believe that heroes compare with the characters who play major roles in literature and movies.

I think many of today’s heroes in America come off from characteristics of a Romantic Hero. The heroes we look up today have the same values as a Romantic hero would for example they are considered to be morally on the right track. They are also in America supposed to have a young face of youthfulness. They are looked up upon how they speak and how they show their kindness to others. Many politicians do this in reality and many actors are loved for showing it in their movies.

Many celebrities and politicians have characteristics of a Romantic Hero. For a movie it is a little different from a real life politician. Mainly because one it’s a movie for a politician for example Barack Obama would be a hero to some. He is very tall and has a beautiful family which he loves plus he is the president of the United States. For a celebrity acting in a movie many people will grow on the character because he is strong and charming which are how many movies are made today in America. There are many characteristics of a Romantic Hero that still shapes the world we live in today.

The American Romantic Hero
The characteristics of the romantic hero are very similar to our heroes today. Actually, this statement should be rephrased to say that our version of the American hero is similar to the hero from the romanticism time period. They all seem to be young, innocent, or the one you’d least expect. Heroes in movies like Robin Hood and Disney’s very own Peter Pan, have many of the characteristics of the Romantic hero. Young, innocent, fighting for a better purpose, these heroes always seem the same.
Today’s politicians seem to try and mimic the romantic hero the best they can. Of course many of them aren’t young, but they try. They modify their way of campaigning to make them seem as a hero, and they speak of all the “heroic” deeds they will do while in office. We see them try and act innocent and seem as though they have a true honest purpose. These characteristics are the many characteristics in which the romantic hero had. So it’s easy to see that the hero created so many years ago is still alive today, and is probably in one of your favorite movies.

In movies, characters like Indiana Jones possess youthful qualities that make them a hero. Another would be Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. Most heroes have a mentality that carries them from childhood to adulthood triggered by an event, like parents being murdered or a friend dying. Like Jason Bourne, these heroes only believe what they want to believe in and search for a higher truth of themselves or their surroundings.
I think that figure heads are made into this “romantic hero” to gain support from the public. The idea of the romantic hero is patriotic in a way. The idea of a politician being a “romantic hero” is appealing to the public. They feel that person has a sense of honor and understands them. They feel connected and reassured and that’s why they want him as their future leader. I feel the campaigns know this and try to get their candidate as close to the American Romantic Hero as possible.

The characteristics of the romantic hero are not that much different from the ones played in movies today. The only difference is that the romantic hero does not necessarily have to be young; today we consider a hero anyone who can help others without hope of receiving something from the one the hero helped; even some of the American heroes from the twenty-first-century are romantic heroes. for example, The Lone Ranger, Superman, Luke Skywalker, Indiana Jones, and many other ones.

Many actors represent the roll of a hero, and since these actors are consider heroes when they in real life are not, people still see them as one. Also some singers are sometimes consider as heroes such as Michael Jackson was consider a "hero" because he showed that racism should not exist. Lincoln was also consider a hero because he fought for the freedom of slaves. so yeah there is romantic heroes in today's prominent public figures.

I believe the characteristics of a romantic hero are on a basis of some of todays herose. Romantic heros do not have to be very extremely intelligent to be heroes. The romantic heroes are in connection with nature andcommon knowledge as well as strong physical being. These characteristics are associated in modern heroes as well , such as the enviromentalists that try and save our planet every single day.'

The comparison between todays idea of a hero and the romantics era is very similar. Today's hero is usually brave and couragous and trying to be very morally corect not neccesarily involving intelligence. Romantics version of a hero is almost the same thing but they are more involved into nature.

This character was similar to people now a days in a couple of ways. One way is people these days are always making choices on the spot without thinking much about it. You can say that they are just going with the flow. Another way is people in movies and such are influenced so
much and most of the te it's in a negative way. They think that doing what everyone else is doing is going to make them fit in but it's really not
